New
Snow Packets went home yesterday.
Each school year the state allows for three asynchronous e-learning days due to weather. We send the three packets home ahead of time so that our families are prepared in case of an emergency snow day. I suggest putting these in a safe place so they will be available when you need them. My suggestion is the cabinet over your range in your kitchen. It isn’t a place you use very often and the packets will be safe in that spot. If you don’t have one of those, another safe place will do. Just remember that there are three packets for three separate days. When snow days come up, there will be more detailed instructions on what to do. There are three types of snow days, asynchronous days, built-in make up days and synchronous days. We do have to prepare for synchronous days because we will send Chromebooks home with our older students. On Election Day we had a synchronous day, so that is an example of how it works. We had almost 100% participation so it went really well. All three of these days count towards our total school days in session. We have to have 180 days in session.
Asynchronous-Students work independently.
Synchronous-Teachers have Google Meets for instruction.
Please reach out to me if you have any questions.
Parents, don’t forget about the opportunity to join the Snow Crew!
