SCA Style

Our dress code helps students feel like they are on a level
playing field socially and creates a sense of pride in their school
and education.

Tops

  • Shirts with collars (polos, flannels, anything with a collar in any color). The SCA logo is optional. Polos with SCA logos can be purchased here.

  • Crew neck SCA t-shirt or sweatshirt (either short or long sleeves)

  • Cardigans (any color)

Bottoms

Khaki, black, gray, or navy:

  • Pants with rivets or pockets

  • Skorts, skirts, jumpers, shorts

  • Jeans with no holes (NEW! These can be worn daily)

Shorts or skirts must be fingertip length and not undersized. Bottoms should be thick enough as to not be translucent.

The SCA Demerit System will be followed for dress code violations. 

SCA Demerit System

Before Consequences
Warning
Teacher speaks with the student and logs the warning in Harmony. 

1 to 2 Demerits
Teacher speaks with student, logs the demerit in Harmony, and contacts parent via email or phone. 

Admin will pull students to briefly discuss each demerit (appropriate behavior, update them on their “count,” etc). Most of the time it will be a quick conversation in the hallway outside their classroom to avoid missed instructional time.

Consequences

3 to 4 Demerits
Teacher logs the demerit in Harmony and sends it to the office. The parent will be contacted by the administrator to communicate the consequence (as well as the teacher for the behavior). The student will be assigned a lunch (full hour)/after school detention (until 4). The form is mailed home to the parent.

5 to 7 Demerits
Teacher logs demerit in Harmony and sends it to the office. The parent will be contacted by the administrator to communicate the consequence (as well as the teacher for the behavior). The student will be given ISS. The form is mailed home to the parent.

8 or More Demerits
Teacher logs the demerit in Harmony and sends it to the office. The parent will be contacted by the administrator to communicate the consequence (as well as the teacher for the behavior). The student will have out of school suspension. The form is mailed home to the parent.
