Junior Cheer Updates
Junior Cheer Updates:
We will be making up our 3rd junior cheer performance on Tuesday, January 13th. Game start time is 7:00. I encourage the junior cheerleaders to stay the entire game and help us cheer on our team along with the middle school cheerleaders. We have created some cheers to teach our junior team to keep them involved during the whole game. Since we have had such a long time frame since our last game, I have organized a second cheer clinic on Jan.12th after school until 4:00. There will be an opportunity to learn a new cheer to perform on Tuesday along with a review of our “Wipeout” dance. They will also learn a few simple chants to chant along with us during the game. I hope everyone can make it!

What to do if we have a snow day…
Please prepare your inclement weather plans for all situations. We could have a 2 hour delay, an early dismissal, a “packet day”, an e learning day, or a cancellation.
❄️ We will start with packet days if we need to cancel school. We are only allowed to have three of those per year.
❄️ Next we will go with our snow days and use our built in snow days (January 19, February 16, April 3).
❄️ After those are all used, we will do e-learning days. We can have as many e-learning days as needed for inclement weather.
❄️ If an announcement needs to be made about school for inclement weather, these are the places it will be: your email, Facebook, Shannon and Deb, WBIW, Fox 59, and WTHR 13.
We do the best we can to prevent having to add days to the school calendar. Schools are required to get 180 school days per year.

Prepare for Colder Weather
🥶 Prepare for Colder Weather 🧥
As temperatures drop, please remember to send your child to school with appropriate outerwear each day. Coats, hats, and gloves help keep everyone warm and comfortable during outdoor play.
If your family needs assistance with warm clothing, please reach out to admin@springville.academy — we’re happy to help.
☝🏾 Tips for Keeping Track of Coats, Hats, and Gloves
Label everything! Write your child’s name inside their coat.
Bundle items together. When not wearing gloves and hats, tuck the gloves into the hat, and then place the hat (with gloves inside) into the sleeve of the coat. This helps keep sets together and prevents lost items.
🌡️ Outdoor Recess Guidelines
We love getting fresh air and will go outside as much as possible! Our outdoor time decisions follow a simple color-coded chart:
🟢 Green Zone: We will go outside.
🟡 Yellow Zone: Shortened recess — about 5–10 minutes for grades K–1, and 10–15 minutes for grades 2–6.
🔴 Red Zone: We will stay indoors.
Thank you for helping your child stay warm, safe, and ready for outdoor fun this winter!
